Basic Concept Design.

Intended to offer clients a concept layout with quick turnaround while still accounting for typical space planning conditions generally encountered in solvent/solventless extraction facility design. Available for most configurations. Not intended for construction or permit submittal.

Architectural Layout

  • Conceptual floorplan developed for a simple solvent/solventless extraction lab space with extractor, and post processing area based on equipment order.

Basic Criteria Set

  • Basic plumbing plan
  • Basic sheet metal plan (ductwork, exhaust, fans)
  • Basic electrical plan
  • Schedules and details

Process Layout Set.

Intended to offer guidance to the client with regards to overall lab design and workflow, without information related to mechanical/electrical/plumbing systems. This package has the second-quickest turnaround, and unlike the basic concept design will take a client's specific site, bill of materials, and personal expectations into account. This set is conceptual and is not intended for construction or permit submittal.

Architectural Layout Includes:

  • Conceptual existing/demolition plan (where applicable).
  • Conceptual floorplan.
  • Conceptual reflected ceiling plan.
  • Conceptual security plan.
  • Custom equipment schedule and diagram.
  • Workflow diagram(s).
  • Hazardous materials diagram and inventory (solvent based).

Design Criteria Package.

Intended to offer a more complete outline of the requirements and conditions in an extraction facility, to provide the client's architect and engineers of record with clear guidelines for an efficient and safe facility. This package consists of the same sheets found in the Process Layout Set, with the addition of an MEP Criteria Set from our mechanical/electrical/plumbing engineers, as well as a Technical Assistance Report from our Fire Protection Engineer meant to outline the requisite standards of fire safety provided for and needed within the client's facility. This package consists of conceptual designs and is not intended for construction or permit submittal.

Architectural Layout Set

  • Conceptual existing/demolition plan (where applicable).
  • Conceptual floorplan.
  • Conceptual reflected ceiling plan.
  • Conceptual security plan.
  • Custom equipment schedule and diagram.
  • Workflow diagram(s).
  • Hazardous materials diagram and inventory (solvent based).

Technical Assitance Report

  • Outlines the facility's compliance with relevant local fire and building codes.
  • Provides a guide for local fire marshals, building officials, etc. to gain a better understanding of the facility's operations and safety standards.
  • Note - TAR may also be provided with a Process Layout Set, for an added fee.

MEP Criteria Set

  • Plumbing concept plan
  • Mechanical (HVAC) concept plan.
  • Electrical concept plan.
  • Schedules and details.

Construction Document Set.

Document Architecture Set

  • Cover sheet, Specifications/General Requirements/Building Code Analysis.
  • Demolition plan, Floor plan, and Roof plan with details.
  • Life Safety plan, Security plan and Ceiling plan
  • Exterior elevations and building sections.
  • Room Finish schedule, Door schedule and details, Casework details, Toilet room plan and details.
  • Equipment plan and schedule.
  • Workflow plan, Hazardous Materials plan Interior elevations.

Basic Criteria Set

  • Specifications and Demolition plan
  • Plumbing plan and details

  • Mechanical/HVAC plans w/ air unit schedules and details
  • Airflow requirements and temperature controls

  • One line drawings, panel schedules and electrical details

Existing Documentation

  • Using client drawings and intake, set up drawing files as necessary or field verify.
  • Meeting with client's team to discuss project and review design drawings.
  • Incorporate clients' comments into design drawings.
  • Provide design development drawings and specifications suitable for pricing.

Technical Assistance Report:

  • Outlines the facility's compliance with relevant local fire and building codes.
  • Provides a guide for local fire marshals, building officials, etc. to gain a better understanding of the facility's operations and safety standards.
