Hemp Oil Extraction
Hemp oil extraction can be achieved by passing the plant material through extraction equipment. The main form of hemp oil extraction is through the use of solvents. In short, solvent extraction of cbd from hemp involves mixing the plant material with a chosen solvent (like CO2, butane, propane, or ethanol) – the solvent binds with the desired chemical components and is then filtered to isolate it from unwanted plant material. This initial extraction is very rich, and carries a large variety of the chemical components found in hemp, so it is usually refined to pull out desired isolates (such as CBD). One form of further isolation is distillation, which can effectively separate out CBD. This works because the chemical components found in cannabis all have different boiling points.
